Accredited APCA Member: Fumapest is an Accredited Member and major sponsor of The Australian Pest Controllers Association Inc APCA since it's incorporation in 1987.
Industry stewardship: A Fumapest Director served as a member of the NSW Govt Pest Control Licensing Board from 1988 to 1996 and the Standards Australia Termite Control Committees AS3660 and AS4349.

HACCP Quality Assured: Fumapest is compliant with HACCP and AQIS requirements for commercial food handling premises, restaurants, hospitals, child care centres, retirement villages and other sensitive commercial and educational environments.

Fully insured - excellent track record: Fumapest has public liability and professional indemnity insurance to cover claims for personal injury and faulty workmanship, including repairs costs of termite damage to buildings, of up to $10 million and $1 million respectively, with Pacific International Insurance Ltd. Fumapest has not made an insurance claim related to termite problems for more than 10 years.

Professional Technicians at your premises: The Fumapest Group Training Program regularly assesses technician skills and performance in the use of the latest generation products. All termite control technicians possess the TAFE Pest Control Certificate from TAFE and are NSW WorkCover Licensed PCO's with many years of field-work experience in termite control. Some technicians have been with Fumapest for more than 10 years.
Setting the Standard: In an industry fraught with fly-by-night operators, Fumapest stands out as a well established Southern Highlands pest control service company with an excellent reputation in the market-place. Be careful in selecting a pest controller - it's far too easy to get a pest control licence and start up a pest control business in NSW with little knowledge or experience. Termites attack 1 in 3 homes in the Southern Highlands

Termites are a major worry: Recent industry surveys suggest that about one in three homes in the Southern Highlands will suffer a termite infestation. To make matters worse your home insurance policy will NOT cover the damage which may involve costly replacement of structural timbers in the floor, wall and roof.
termites can build a sub-nest in a wall cavity of a home
Picture of a termite nest in wall cavity with Fumapest Director, Michael DuBois examining a large above-ground termite nest built inside a wall cavity of a home.
Termites build such nests, where moisture collects inside the wall cavity, from leaking pipes, shower recess, faulty guttering and down-pipes.
YOUR BEST PROTECTION is to arrange for a Termite Inspection and Report to Australian Standard 3660, including written specifications for a complete Termidor soil barrier treatment, where practicable, to protect your home. Prevention is better than cure.
Where live Termite activity is found Fumapest will install espesially designed termite bait stations containing the Nemesis brand termite bait. We closely monitor at 2 to 3 weekly intervals the stations to assess bait consumption and replenish bait therein.
Nemesis termite bait contains an IGR insect growth regulator that prevents the worker termite from regrowing it's external skeleton after moulting. Worker termites ingesting the bait will feed partly digested timber and the bait to other termites in the central nest. Termites cannablise other dead termites thereby hastening elimination of the entire colony. Click here for more details.

Fumapest uses the safer, more effective products

Safety first:
Recently a new range of pest control products have entered the marketplace, including hi-tech baits for the control of termites, cockroaches and ants. Although much safer to use in and around the home these products require a far higher level of skill to ensure an effective result.

For termite control Fumapest uses the safer and most effective products commercially available in Australia, such as Termidor and Premise termite soil treatment chemicals and the Nemesis termite baiting system. These products and various alternatives are discussed in detail in the Termite Control section of this website.

Why it's important to know about termites

WARNING: Termite damage to a building can be severe and your home insurance does NOT cover the repair costs. Termites are known to destroy roofing and wall framing timbers within a few months in the Southern Highlands region.
